[It's been an interesting few days, hasn't it, Mayfield? Sexy nurses, vampires, zombies, werewolves, inexplicable children running around. As it happens, Schuldig was involved with both the first and the last events on that list...though the former has been almost completely forgotten in favor of the latter.

No matter what people may think - what Schuldig may want them to think, deliberately lead them to think - some things can even get to him. And today, he's lying flat on his back on a bench in the park, slowly smoking his way through an entire pack of cigarettes.

He doesn't usually smoke. It's a habit he only indulges in when something is bothering him and he needs something to do to distract his hands and his mouth and his mind. Anyone who might want to approach him about encounters with a certain redhead boy, or even about encounters with a full-grown telepath in a sexy nurse outfit - this is where you'll find him.]

[Schuldig's eyes narrow. Ken may not be able to tell, as the Mastermind's always been good at goading the members of Weiss, but he's on the defensive, too.] I'd hope even you would know better than that, Siberian. [His voice is unusually low and measured, and all the more menacing for it.]

I don't like people messin' with my memories, useful or no! [This isn't really about Schuldig and Keane, it's the principle in general that Ken is objecting to.]

Funny; I could say much the same thing, couldn't I? You shouldn't even have those memories.

[Mainly what Ken is scared about is that he doesn't know what else Schuldig would go about doing in his head once he's got that power. You give a mop an inch and then he shafts you.

Besides...he'd rather remember poor Keane. It seems like no one else does really.]

[Schuldig is following his thoughts again, and this prompts one of his few genuine flare-ups. Guess what, Ken - Schuldig loses his temper sometimes too! Enjoy the reversal~] No one is supposed to!

Yes I can. [His voice is a venomous hiss.]

No you can't! I don't fucking care HOW powerful you are! No one can change the past! NO ONE!

[He swings his arm out to the side to emphasize his point. Hey, there were things he didn't want to remember to, things he wished he could change. But he knew that there was no way to do that.]

Yes I can. [Schuldig's words have taken on the quality of primal fury, of determination so vicious that he'll either erase history or break everything he is trying. It's hard to tell if the words are merely vocal or are also being echoed in Ken's head, but either way, the voice is unrecognizable.]

[Anger is something Ken responds to. Mainly because it feeds his own, so really they're almost creating a feed back loop]

THE PAST IS STONE! YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO CHANGE IT!

[A tiny voice in his head is trying to get the point across that while you can not change the past, it changes you, but it's being very staunchly ignored by the rest of him. He's too busy thinking Schu is a moron and being angry]

[Quite suddenly, Schuldig is rising from the bench, and his fingers are wrapped around Ken's throat. It's a tight, painful grip, but not really throttling; he's only using the one hand, after all.

And he's smiling. It may be the most horrible expression ever made. It's the smile of a man with nothing to lose who's just picked up a flamethrower.] Fine, then - not change. Erase.

[Being with in arms reach of Ken means that Schuldig has moved himself into the murder zone, not to mention encouraging it by making an aggressive move. Schuldig's words only enrage him further.

Which leads to his own aggressive move, a punch aimed at the cheek bone]

LET GO! [He wants to say that erasure of the past wouldn't work either. It still shows in who you are, that the past makes you, but he can't get his thoughts together because of his own emotional state]

[Schuldig takes the hit and is knocked backwards by it, losing his grip on Ken - which is probably for the best - but he never actually stops smiling. Nor does he make another move for Ken; instead he taps out a new cigarette and lights it.

In this moment, under these circumstances, he's looking almost as deranged as Farfarello. Of course, anyone could have guessed as much, given the sorts of things Schuldig gets up to, but usually the flavors of their insanity aren't quite so similar as this. But when it comes to his past, all bets are off with Schuldig.]

[Man it was satisfying to feel his knuckles connect against Schuldig's face. There was something to be said about impulse actions in cases like this. He watches Mastermind for a minute, waiting for the attack that doesn't come and it confuses him. Then again, he's too used to dealing with Farfarello who would just keep going until called off. It takes a moment for his brain to actually reassert itself over his emotions.]

I'm leaving.

I don't care. Do what you like. [And Schuldig takes his place back on the bench, still with that distant, half-crazed look in his eyes.]

[And he's going to pick up his soccer ball and walk off angrily. He almost wishes that Schu had fought back and they could have a proper fight. None of this insanity and broken business that seemed to be going on.]

[No Schu he doesn't feel bad for you at all. Really. Truly.]
