OOC: Second Permissions Post!

Thanks to a post office visit, Schuldig has regained full use of his telepathy. This means that not only can he read a character's mind, but he can actually tweak stuff in there. THIS INCLUDES OUTRIGHT MIND CONTROL.

Some notes about his mind control:

• Schuldig will never, ever take over a character's mind without specific player consent! That means that you can't just say "oh, he can mindjack my character whenever!" and then I'll assume carte blanche; I will ask you for permission each and every time it comes up. ♥ I'll probably check pretty much everything he does with it by you, too, unless you want to be surprised with where he might go with it or something.

• Schuldig can control a character's thoughts, their bodies, or both at once(obviously, this last takes the most effort/concentration on his part). You're more than welcome to specify which kinds you're okay with, and what you're okay with having him do! And yes, he is more vulnerable while controlling someone to third parties, although there aren't usually hugely overt signs that he's doing it.

• The mind control can be fought ICly, though it's definitely not easy. Those with particularly strong or stubborn minds, and/or psychic talents, will be able to put up more of a fight...but keep in mind that Schuldig is an exceptionally powerful telepath with years of brutal training to be good at what he does. Your character may be able to hinder his efforts, but bucking his influence completely will be near impossible until he's accomplished his goal/feels like letting your character go/runs out of energy to hold onto their minds any longer. (Canon example: Schuldig was able to force a girl to shoot the boy she was in love with, but she managed to pull the gun just enough to the side to keep the shot from being fatal.)

• Anyone or anything who is immune to Schuldig's telepathy is likewise immune to mind control. This means Lucy Smith/the Mayor/the Milkman/drones/those without human minds or thought processes/those with inhuman amounts of data or input in their minds that Schuldig can't cope with. See his first post on telepathy for further details on the exempt categories!

So you may be wondering what this post is for at all, if I'm going to ask players directly for permission to have Schuldig use this talent. It's actually more of a planning post! Obviously, Schuldig's mind control can be used for all kinds of fun CR shenanigans - mostly causing huge problems for people - and he doesn't need much excuse to mess with others. If you'd like to plot something mind control-related for Schuldig, this is the place to ask~ If you have a specific idea, awesome; if not, we can try to come up with one!

Oh, he can mindrape my character whenever! ♥

*brick'd*

Okay, seriously. We need to make plans for this to happen to Ema. We just do.

Bugs mind can be read, but the inside of his head is very weird. (For proof, see "Duck Amuck", in which it's revealed that Bugs the animator making Daffy's life miserable.)

Mind control...I'd say "only if it's funny". Bugs just plum doesn't do fatal force except against his fellow Toons (and even then, said Toons very seldom die unless the gag calls for it).

This guy...tricky. At first, he'd probably be a pretty open book (though there are places in his head he keeps deeply buried even to himself), but if he learns that there are mind readers in Mayfield he'd start doing countermeasures like singing some horrible ear worm song or what have you. If our characters run into each other, give me a poke then and I'll re-evaluate.

Mind control--obviously, the more inclined the Sniper is to do something, the easier it would be to control. Fully against his will? He weighs a good 200 lbs plus. Good luck dragging around that much dead weight. (He doesn't have experience against being mind controlled, but he's developed the ability to go completely slack if someone tried to force him to go somewhere he doesn't want to.)

I've detailed what you can find in Red's mind in his Permissions (http://hispalette.livejournal.com/941.html#cutid2) post, but in so far as taking control of it, I don't mind at all. He's pretty willful and stubborn, but given Schuldig's skill, he shouldn't have too much of a hard time mindfucking him.

So yeah, totally consenting here. ._.b

I'm thinking that the nations probably wouldn't be exempt. I can't think of any reason they would be, since they are for all intents and purposes human, despite an odd sort of immortality.

That being said Holland here is a very, very stubborn guy, and I'm not sure what we'd do. I'm up for him meeting all types of characters though, and it might be nice for him to meet somebody a bit more intimidating than himself, haha. I'm wide open for anything.

Well, nations may be exempt on the grounds that they have centuries of memories and development, not to mention very different thought processes from normal people? ♥ Although as far as nations go, I think I'll leave that up to a character-by-character basis. So if you think he should be exempt, he is; if not, then he isn't!

[identity profile] vertulpen.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see that too; Holland is a pretty old nation, he's a bit younger than quite a few of the other western Europeans, but he's still an old man.

I think he'd probably find anything Schuldig did irritating, like a bug or a bad headache. He'd probably get a little confused, but be able to tell right away that it was being caused by somebody else; and I don't think he'd be able to be controlled.

And once he realized it was somebody else, he'd punch them. pfft.

You're already generally aware of what you can get away with with Dist; namely, just about anything. XD I'm seriously not picky about getting him hurt or mind-controlled; we talk constantly so we can work the details out in IM if it ever comes up. <3

Permission granted for this guy. The Riddler has a very strong, obnoxious mind, but it's doubtful that he'd really be able to completely fight off Schu's mind control/mind-reading.

I'm not exactly sure if Slugger would count as exempt or not. For context, he's a monster-like construct of human imagination and is made up of a large collection of other people's negative energy/emotions. However, in Mayfield he's trapped in the body of a human boy (though he becomes less and less human with every ability he regains).

I would imagine that Schuldig can probably hear his thoughts but they're probably not thoughts he'd want to really deal with.

Garviel might well be a significant challenge. He's over 120 years old, and as a Space marine has certain defenses against over psychic control. He can be mindread but due to 1: Garviel's notable canonical resistance to mind-controlling effects and general purity, and 2: his being a space marine who all have a bit of resistance in this area, he will be bitchhard to physically control. (Though not impossible.)

[identity profile] asclepiansword.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
Not many people are as stubborn as Liquid, mentally or physically. But you're welcome to plan this with me should the opportunity ever arise.

Ilsa is likely to fight controls as hard as she can. Thoughts might be harder, with her training. However, that might be safer for him, with how many spells don't require a kinetic element.

I definitely want to plot something out the next time something goes down on Kramden Road.

*Comments on this one too*

Badou's thoughts can be read as said in your previous post. For mind control, the first time he'll probably not even notice until it's too late. Any other consequent times he'd probably try to fight it and...Probably not do so hot unless he gets lucky I guess?
